We’re Smore, a SchoolStatus company. For the past fifteen years, we’ve been helping educators, principals, and district leaders send newsletters that look awesome and include all of the information folks need to know. Newsletters sent through Smore were viewed more than a billion times last year.
How we got started
Smore launched in Seattle in 2011 through the Techstars Accelerator program. Initially designed as a newsletter tool for small businesses, Smore soon found its calling in the K–12 education sector, becoming a favorite among teachers and principals for its simplicity and engagement.
We secured an initial round of funding in 2013, marking a turning point in our growth. In 2022, Smore joined SchoolStatus, a leading provider of K-12 solutions.
Where we’re going
This exciting collaboration expanded our reach and resources, introduced new integrations with SchoolStatus Connect and Attend, so we can provide educators with even more ways to engage families.
Today, Smore is used by over 1 million educators across 20,000 schools and districts. Their newsletters receive more than a billion views each year. We love seeing all of the creative ways they build trust and connection in school communities nationwide!
