February is here, and we’re celebrating with a set of delightful Smore school newsletter templates designed to bring families, educators, and students closer together! Whether you’re sharing weekly updates, honoring history, celebrating love, or diving into presidential trivia, Smore’s February templates have everything you need to inform, inspire, and engage.

Let’s explore the four fabulous school newsletter templates waiting for you this month and how they can make your communication shine.

1. February Weekly Update: Strengthen the Family-School Connection

Keep your classroom and building buzzing with connection by using the February Weekly Update Template.

Regular updates are more than just information—they’re bridges that strengthen the school-home partnership. This template makes it easy to share key dates, class highlights, and student achievements while maintaining an inviting tone.

💡 Tip: Highlight a “Student Spotlight” or share a quick, heartwarming story from the week. Families love hearing about their children’s experiences, and these tidbits can spark even more engagement!

2. Black History Month: Celebrate Stories That Shape Us

February is Black History Month, a time to celebrate the rich and diverse contributions of Black Americans to our shared history.

Smore’s Black History Month Template includes curated resources to bring this history alive in your classroom. It features a deep dive into the story of the Pullman Porters, unsung heroes of labor and civil rights, and other interactive content to help students engage with these important lessons.

📚 Pro Tip: Pair this template with a collaborative classroom activity. Encourage students to research and present on influential Black leaders who resonate with them. Sharing these stories in your newsletter fosters learning and showcases the voices of your students!

3. Valentine’s Day: Share the Love and Learning

Nothing says February like hearts and happy vibes! Our Valentine’s Day Template is bursting with fun, inclusive ideas for celebrating this day of love and kindness in your classroom.

From academic tie-ins like math challenges and an activity on Courtly Love (not to be confused with Courtney!)  to kindness challenges that spread positivity among peers, this template ensures Valentine’s Day is meaningful, inclusive, and fun for everyone.

❤️ Engagement Idea: Add a “Kindness Tracker” for families to complete at home! Share it in your newsletter and watch as families join in the celebration of kindness beyond the classroom.

4. President’s Day: Discover History in a Fun Way

Encourage students to dive into history with our President’s Day Template, packed with engaging resources like an interactive quiz to determine which president they’re most like. It’s a lighthearted and educational way to explore leadership and history.

🇺🇸 Educator’s Tip: Use the quiz as a classroom activity and ask students to write about the president they were matched with. Share their discoveries in the next edition of your newsletter!
