Every year, we celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15. It’s a time rich with opportunities — across all subject areas — for engaging, fascinating teaching and learning about our friends and fellow citizens whose families hail from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America.

This National Hispanic Heritage Month template offers you a variety of resources. For starters, a couple of one-stop shopping websites with a wide range of resources, histories, and lessons. Maybe you’re looking for more specific classroom activities? We’ve got a starter biography project for you, plus additional activities across disciplines. Teaching remotely? We’ve got resources for you, too!

Dr. Kara Stern has seen school from just about every angle: high school English teacher, middle school principal, fellowship director for math and science teachers across New York City, and head of school at a rural N-12 school. That breadth is what she brings to her work at Smore, where she writes, speaks, and challenges educators to build the kinds of school communities where every student thrives. She holds a Master’s in Education Leadership from Teachers College and a Ph.D. in Teaching and Learning from NYU.
