STAFF APPRECIATION
On May 12, the District provided every team member with a Soledad USD cooler bag containing several healthy living items inside in appreciation for their dedication and tireless work on behalf of our students. Thanks to District staff who assembled and delivered the bags.
Paul Hutton Memorial
On May 17, the San Vicente staff gathered to honor long-time teacher Paul Hutton with the dedication of a park bench. Mr. Hutton was a beloved member of the San Vicente Faculty. Several SV team members spoke fondly of his service to students and colleagues. The bench will be placed in the San Vicente School garden.
Classified School Employee Week Celbration
On Wednesday, May 18th, district staff delivered cake, fruit and candies throughout district sites as a small token of the district's appreciation for all they do.
Our amazing H.R. and Support staff: Lupe Munguia, Nancy Quinonez, and Maria Torres picked up and helped to deliver the cakes/fruit to the school sites. On the way, they met amazing community members who said to give you all a message: "Congratulations to All School Employees!"
TOP SCHOLARS BANNER
Our Top Scholars banner is now on display at FoodsCo along Highway 101. Congratulations to these outstanding students. Thanks to FoodsCo for allowing us to display this banner and thanks to our Maintenance team members for mounting the banner.
SENIOR AWARDS CEREMONY
The Soledad High School Senior Awards Ceremony was held on May 18. Numerous 12th grade students were recognized with awards and scholarships. Scholarships totaled nearly $1 million.
The Board of Trustees presented $500 scholarships to five students: James Pantoja, Sofia Vargas, Israel Crystalinas, Kyanna Medina, Yulissa Camarillo-Vargas
The Soledad USD Administrators presented four scholarships: Kimberly Jimenez: $1,500, Felicita De Jesus: $1,000, Hamza Basal: $500, and Kyanna Medina: $500.
STUDENTS OF THE MONTH
At its May 12 meeting, the Soledad Rotary Club honored the March and April students of the month.
CTE AWARDS
On May 19, Mission Trails ROP held its CTE Student Awards Ceremony. Soledad High School student Karen Sanchez Pizano was honored as the Soledad CTE student of the Year in Dental Careers. Karen was a state SkillsUSA bronze medal recipient. She was introduced by CTE coordinator Keegan White and dental teacher, Yolanda Hernandez.
Rudy Canchola Recognition
On May 11, Gabilan custodian Rudy Canchola was recognized as the Soledad Employee of the year for custodial services. The Gabilan team members gathered in the MPR for a presentation by MCOE superintendent Deneen Guss.
