Early Childhood Education Program
Early Childhood Education Program.....A Little Bit About Our Learning World!🧒
The Early Childhood Education Program (ECP) is a Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathway that offers students a leg up when looking for a job and continuing their education. The ECP program provides students with the opportunity to learn in a real classroom setting, working with Mesa County School preschoolers. ECP students write, implement and lead a lesson plan for the kids. The pathway helps students explore early childhood professions.
How can you help as a parent?
Continue to encourage your student to be the 4 P's (Polite, Prepared, Productive, Professional) when they enter the Career Center Campus. Remind your students of our dress code, we work daily with the preschool students next door. In addition, the Career Center also has a no phone policy; please remind your student to put their phones in our cell phone basket until the end of the module. Read emails, newsletters and attend conferences, because it doesn't work without you!

Companion Animal Care🐕
We Are Ready To Meet Your Furry Friends...
Companion Animal Care students started volunteering again this year with their partnerships of Mesa County Animal Services and Roice- Hurst. The organizations offer a lot to our students by teaching, hands-on and most importantly what it takes to give these loving animals a second chance at a forever home, truly inspiring! They also held a fundraiser and raised over $70 for CLAWS and Roice-Hurst Humane Societies.
The program is also now open to the community for grooming care. Your pup will cleaned, brushed, trimmed and plenty of attention! Call for an appointment today 970-254-6000 Ext. 21118. For more information see attached flyer.
InSTEPS
Nutrition and Excercise
What did the leaf say before hibernation? Rake me up when September ends!😃 September is coming to a close and InSTEPS has been soaking up the last of the warm weather and the beautiful sunshine Colorado has to offer. We have had two riverfront cycling trips with Colorado Discover Ability and have enjoyed every minute of it. Thank you to all that made our trip a success!
Cooking Matters from Hilltop Family Resource Center is joining us again this year to teach our participants about healthy nutrition. Each week our participants prepare a healthy meal or snack and receive the recipe to take home and try with their families.
We have three participants gainfully employed and five participants volunteering in the community. We are pleased to announce that we will be partnering with Valley Prep and preparing to launch our crafted images. Keep an eye out for crafted goods created by students and up for sale at the upcoming craft fair on November 4th here at the Career Center Campus! See you there!
