Our Lost and Found is overflowing. If your child is missing any clothing items, please stop by the Lost and Found. We often have a collection of hoodies and jackets. It is helpful to write your child’s name in their clothing so that we can return the items to their owner if found. Items left in the Lost and Found after conferences will be donated to a local charity.
As the weather is getting colder, please send your child to school in winter weather gear. We go outside for recess in cold and inclement weather.

Middle School Update
Students this week have done much better with organization–thank you parents for your support with this important life skill. November 1st was the final day of our first quarter; grades will be ready for printing on November 8th. We are finalizing our fall conference plans, so look for information coming home with your student on scheduling early next week.
We wrapped up October with a mental health and connection interactive presentation from Only 7 Seconds. (only7seconds.com). Their message is that it only takes seven seconds to reach out and have meaningful connections with other human beings–and human brains are hard- wired for this connection. We will be working with this group on more connections activities in the future. Students had a free “mental health” period after the assembly to enjoy open gym time, card and board games, or a movie.
Our K-12 Counseling Team took a trip to Second Chance Ranch this week. They learned about opportunities working with retired horses in the area of equine therapy as a way of supporting our students. We are currently looking for grant opportunities in the hope of funding more student involvement in this area. Check out their website: sceondchanceranch.org
Science continues with “Lab Thursdays” where students were given materials and minimal instructions and were tasked with creating a weight system that would cause the potato product can to roll forwards and then backwards a certain distance. Our students are working on the concept of multiple tries on the road to success and divergent thinking. They are also working on badminton skills in PE class as well.
