A Note from Principal Sage
It was another exceptional night of music this week at our choir concert. Congratulations to all of our 7th grade learners who participated. We look forward to our band concert Tuesday, Jan 23rd in the BMS auditorium. Please note the change in location for this concert.
FHS Counselors presented to our 8th graders on HS registration and important information can be found below. I do want to highlight that on Wednesday, January 24th at 6:15 in the FHS Recital Hall there will be a parent informational session presented by HS administration. On Monday, January 28th current 6th and 7th grade families will receive information on registering for BMS classes next year.
I also want to call your attention to a community engagement event at FHS on Tuesday, January 23rd. The topic will be centered around the opioid crisis facing many communities with a free Naloxone training, a resource fair, Q&A with a panel of experts, and a viewing of Dead on Arrival – a documentary about the impact of fentanyl poisoning in opioid overdoses. More information can be found below.
As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Winter NWEA Map Testing
January 8-February 9, 2024
Beginning January 8, some learners may be asked to participate in the NWEA MAP test. The NWEA MAP tests are adaptive computer delivered assessments that are administered to more than 11 million students across the country, which provides a large National Norm sample for comparison. Farmington Schools chooses to administer tests in reading and math to students in grades 2 through 8. The adaptive nature of the tests means that the test adjusts to the student's responses. As a student answers correctly, the test gets more challenging. As they get items wrong, the test presents easier items. The purpose of the assessment is to identify the student's academic level in the specific content area, regardless of age, grade level or prior achievement.
To read more about the NWEA test, please visit the school website, linked here. There is a link to the Opt Out information for both the NWEA tests on the left side of the webpage. Please complete the form and return it to the front office. *Please note that if you Opted out in the fall, you do not need to resubmit the opt out form for the remainder of the year. Here is a direct link to the form.

If a student will be absent, a parent/guardian must call Boeckman Middle School’s attendance line at 651-460-1405 prior to 9:45 AM each day of the absence. We ask that parents/guardians provide the reason for the absence at the time they call. The school determines if the absence falls within the excused or unexcused parameters. If the school does not receive a call from the parent/guardian the day of the absence, the student’s absence is automatically unexcused.
