InSTEPS
Why did the scarecrow take first prize? It was out-standing in its field! π
InSTEPS is having a spook-tacular month! We enjoyed the 2nd annual lunch with the first responders in Palisade hosted by an InSTEPS alumni family member. Encouraging relationships between 1st responders and members of the community with special needs. Both cohorts attended a fall field trip to Studt's Pumpkin Patch. Participants received pumpkins, loved the farm slide, and got lost in the corn maze. We also look forward to your support as we will be having some pretty amazing items at the craft fair here at Career Center Campus November 4th. See you there!
Culinary Arts
Culinary Art students have been busy touring restaurants around the community learning different and unique skills that the industry has to offer. They went to Red Lobster last month and this month they will be touring Devils' Kitchen.
The Fresh Side CafΓ© will be open for lunch during our Craft Fair from 11:00-1:00pm on November 4th. Please join us, looking forward to your business!

Early Childcareπ
Great things are happening in ECP. In Early Childhood Professions (Career Center) one student from each module will be chosen to work over in the preschool classroom to help support Ms. Tina Tarbay during their instruction time. The students will have the ability to have an unpaid internship right next door. The students chosen have applied, built a resume performed in person interviews, and also a working interview. The students will explore the characteristics of a successful teacher by applying theoretical concepts to real-life situations. All our students are observing daily in the preschool classroom and applying their Teaching Strategies Gold (TSG). TSG is an authentic, ongoing observational, system for assessing children's birth through kindergarten. The daily student observations that our ECP students are taking aides the preschool teachers to learn what the children can do. Our ECP students are truly able to take what they have learned in the classroom and apply it to real experiences, where they learn how to meet the developmental needs and interests of young children in early childhood settings.
We have also enjoyed observing many different programs in the field and around our community. These programs include Centro de la Familia, Bookcliff Preschool, Clifton Elementary, Preschool, Little Mavericks, and Mini Mavericks. Being able to observe children, begins by noting how each child behaves, learns, reacts to new situations, and interacts with peers. An educator then takes this information and creates activities to promote growth in skills, document the success of those skills, and then reflect and access. This has been a huge piece of our learning! To top off our fun we were able to join the preschool program for Moon Farm Pumpkin Patch field trip.
