Challenger Middle School Mission
Happy New Year Challenger Chargers!
We hope you had a wonderful and well rested break, and we welcome you back to an exciting 2nd semester filled with a ton of learning paired with many after-school activities. Please ensure that your child is on time, well rested and Chromebook is charged tomorrow. Second semester schedules can be found in FOCUS. We are not changing schedules at this time, so thank you for being supportive and patient. Our first day back, Tuesday is an odd day, RED Day. We will be enforcing dress code beginning day one, so please check out our website at chm.leeschools.net for details if you need a refresher.
Soccer signups are January 9th, and tryouts start the following day so please check our website, or below for further details. Report cards will be available for parents on January 13. Don't forget our SAC/PTO meeting on Thursday, January 11th at 5:30 pm.

Q2 Report Cards were finalized on January 8, 2024, and will be available to parents through Focus starting January 13, 2024.
Every Day Counts
Missing a day of school here and there may not seem like much, but absences add up!
When a student misses 2 days a month... they end up missing 20 days a year, and will have missed over 1 year of learning by the time they graduate.

NFMHS Arts Program Audition Info
CALLING ALL 8TH GRADERS INTERESTED IN JOINING THE NFMHS ARTS PROGRAM:
The application period for the NFMHS Arts program will open on January 16 - January 26, 2024. All applications will be available via the FOCUS Portal. Please also complete the Google Form to select your audition date(s) for the program(s) you wish to apply for. More information can be found using the link below:
Mrs. Leonard will offer coaching for theatre auditions after school January 16th until 6pm for any CHMS student that needs help finding audition material or needs critique.
Aladdin Jr. Auditions
All County Choir
On January 25th, students enrolled in the the Challenger Middle School chorus class will have the opportunity to audition for the All County Choir in class. Students selected will learn the music selected from the county and perform in the concert with other selected students from Lee County.

CHMS Spelling Bee
Challenger’s annual school Spelling Bee will be held on February 12th, from 10:00-12:00 in the gymnasium. ELA classes hosted class Spelling Bees to determine the finalists for our school Bee. Parents and families are welcome to root for their child in person this year! Students who have advanced to the school spelling bee will receive more information soon.
ALL OF THE FORMS LINKED BELOW NEED TO BE COMPLETED IN ORDER FOR STUDENTS TO PARTICIPATE IN ANY SPORT. YOU MUST USE THESE SPECIFIC FORMS.
NO OTHER FORMS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
Teams will be chosen by January 29th, with practice starting the same day.
🎄 Holiday Spirit Week 🎄
From December 18th - December 22nd we had lots of holiday cheer at Challenger Middle! We had many themed dress up days to celebrate the last week leading up to the end of school. Both staff and students had fun participating in the holiday celebrations! 😊

Please be aware that the School District of Lee County has an active management plan designed to ensure that the building is maintained safely for all occupants. These materials are being controlled in accordance with the Asbestos Management Program for the School and following the limitations and procedures of the policies and requirements of the Asbestos O&M Program. The report lists the location, quantity, and condition of all known materials and contains the details of the control procedures, and is available at the school office for your inspection during normal school hours. Copies of the school’s asbestos file can be supplied to you at a cost upon submittal of request.
