Feudalism is part of the Byzantine. All of the land belonged to the king. He gave land to the nobles who were kind to him. Nobles were also called lords. Nobles ruled loyalty. They couldn't do anything with out permission from the king. The King cam first, then it was Lords, Knights, and the Serfs. They ruled loyalty and labor. The king had full power over the serfs. Below the nobles were the knights. The knights revived land from nobles. The knights had to defend their lord and land against attack.
