The Watsons Go To Birmingham -1963
Christopher Paul Curtis
Summary
In the book "The Watson's Go To Birmingham this family has a big adventure heading there way as they go through the upcoming challenges. The Watson's go to Birmingham to get away from all the trouble in Flint, Michigan. This family will experience the horrors of the life in Birmingham once a bombing at a church sends them back to Flint.
Byron
Byron is trouble at the begging of the book but his behavior changes when his father leaves him in charge of his younger siblings. Byron starts to get a soft side and starts to make better decisions for himself.
Kenny
Kenny seems like a pretty typical fourth grader. He gets picked on by older kids and hassled by his big brother. He's kind, a little shy, but a good friend once you get to know him, and he loves to play with his collection of plastic dinosaurs.
Joetta
Joey is the youngest Watson, and she's definitely the sensitive one. She always follows the rules, which, let's face it, is a little irritating. She's a bit of a tattletale; but to be fair, most of the time, she tattles to keep her brothers out of trouble rather than get them in trouble. At heart, Joey just wants everyone to get along and be happy. In return, Joey's family showers her with kindness—again, even Byron.
