Malala Yousafzai

Malala Yousafzai is a girl who fought for girls education. She was born on July 12 1997 in Mingora, Pakistan in the country of Swat. As a child she became an advocate for girls’ education. Because of that she was targeted by the Taliban and that issued a death threat against her. Earlier before, when the Taliban tried taking control, they started attacking girls’ schools in Swat. Later on, Malala gave a speech in Peshawar, Pakistan. Her speech was called, “ How Dare the Taliban take away my basic right to education?”

Attacked by the Taliban

On October 9, 2012, Malala was on her way home on a school bus,. and a man boarded the bus Malala was riding in a demand to know which girl was Malala. But then her friends looked at her and gave it away. Then, the guy with the gun shot Malala hitting the left side of her head!

How she has a Growth Mindset

In conclusion, I think Malala has a Growth Mindset, because she went through very tough times and she never gave up. One of Malala’s obstacles in her life as a child, was being under threat of the Taliban. To hide from the Taliban, she had to switch her name! Another challenge Malala had was, recovering from the shot to her eye. She had to learn how to do quite a few things again!
