What is Stirfrying?

Stirfrying is when you cook the food in small pieces, you stir it constantly, and it is lightly oiled. It is cooked in a wok or a frying pan.


A popular restaurant in Topeka to get stir fry is Hu Hot. Some of the popular meats used in stir fry are:

  • Flank steak
  • Sirloin steak
  • Skirt steak
  • Chicken


Recipes

Thai Sesame Chicken Stir Fry
9 oz. of cooked chicken breast, cubed
6 oz. of cooked chow mein stir fry noodles
3 stalks of green onions, biased chopped
1 carrot, sliced
1 red pepper, sliced
2/3 cup of sugar snap peas
1/2 medium onion, sliced
1/2 cup of mushrooms, sliced
1/4 cup of water chestnuts
1/4 cup of zucchini, chopped
1 teaspoon of minced garlic
1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil

Sauce
1/2 cup of chili Thai sauce
2 tablespoons of soy sauce
1 tablespoon of sesame seeds

Preheat a wok with olive oil or peanut oil over high high. Saute veggies (except for green onions) and minced garlic until tender. Add chicken, noodles, chili Thai sauce and soy sauce. Saute for about 3-5 minutes. Stir in sesame seeds and green onions and remove from heat. Serve immediately.
