Where the Adventure Begins...

Happy Friday, ECS Families!

This week I have been so impressed by how many of our students are doing such a great job coming in, unpacking their own backpacks, and getting ready for their day independently! Teaching them independence at this age is such an important skill and your children are doing great! We will continue to work on these skills as we progress throughout the year. The most important thing is to give them the opportunities to practice with just the right amount of support!

Next week our teachers will begin beginning year assessments. They use a variety of tools to determine where each child is academically, socially, behaviorally, and functionally. Then we are able to target classroom instruction to meet individual needs so that all our students make timely progress. Your child's teacher will be sharing this assessment data and goals for your child at parent conferences in October. Be sure to sign up for a time to get the teacher's undivided attention. Your child's teacher will let you know how! We value this time with each of you!

Parent Partnership & Performance Night

Tuesday, Sep. 29th, 6-7pm

ECS Cafeteria

We LOVE to watch our young learners sing for us and we know you love it too! This year we have developed a night that will be educational for parents as well as enjoyable! For the first part of the evening, the teachers and teaching assistants will take the children to class for fun activities together. During this time, we will have a parent training session that covers both academic and behavioral things you can do at home to help prepare your child for Kindergarten. Then the children will return to put on a performance of a lifetime! What's more precious than these little voices?!! We can't wait!!
