Blood
the red liquid that circulates in the arteries and veins of humans and other vertebrate animals, carrying oxygen to and carbon dioxide from the tissues of the body.
Plasma
the colorless fluid part of blood, lymph, or milk, in which corpuscles or fat globules are suspended.
Buffy Coat
is the fraction of an anti coagulated blood sample that contains most of the white blood cells and platelets following density gradient centrifugal of the blood.
White Blood Cells
they are technically the Leukocytes. There are 5,000 to 10,000 WBC per microliter of blood and they are the only blood cell that contains a nucleus and DNA.
Platelets
cell fragments that assist in blood clotting, there are 300,000 Platelets per micro liter of blood.
Red Blood Cells
they are technically called Erythrocytes and are the most numerous type of blood cell. There are 5 million RBC per microliter of blood. They do not have a nucleus.
