Refuge Youth Weekly Update

February 3rd, 2016

New Seasons, big changes

It's an exciting time around here at Refuge! New season, and big changes, and I can't wait to see what God has in store for us! As we learned on Sunday night, we should always remember that no matter our current circumstances, or the battles we face, thus far God has been with us! God is faithful and He will continue to be with us; He is a good God!

Just a few quick reminders, mostly announcements that were in the parent letters that went out this week. Hope Presbyterian Church will be holding its first service this Sunday, 2/7, at 1:30 in the main sanctuary at Community Bible Church, 601 Natoma St. Folsom, CA. Typically our student discipleship hour (SLUG) will happen at 12:30, an hour before service, but with Winter Camp this weekend we'll start SLUG again the following Sunday, 2/14. Refuge Youth Group will continue as normal Sunday nights 6-8pm, but we will meeting at Community Bible Church in their Student Center, a separate building directly on Persifer St. (across from Sutter Middle), but once again, we have a week off because of Winter Camp.

As we look ahead we're excited to start a Confirmation Class for High School Students (8th graders are welcome to participate if they feel as though they are ready). Confirmation will be a class this Spring that focuses on the foundational aspects of our Christian Faith and what it means to be a part of a church body. Confirmation will take place Sundays, at 12:30pm while our regular SLUG program happens. We are holding a parent meeting on Sunday, Feb. 14th at 12:30pm to talk about exactly what Confirmation is and what it will look like.

Once again, thank you for your continued patience and grace as we make this big transition. Our goal continues to be consistency and excellence in our program, and we're excited to expand Refuge's ministry over the next few months. If you have any questions or concerns about anything please don't hesitate to contact me by phone/text (916) 690-0667, or by email
