The above listed team gave a heartwarming and enlightening presentation about a school to work program that has trainedstudents with special needs the necessary skills to obtain employment upon leaving the K-12 public school system. The Chorney family shared their success story which has ended with Matt obtaining his dream job at Gold's Gym. The parents expressed their thanks for the program and also encouraged more students and families to get involved and to support the program.
Commonwealth Funding Update for 2014-201
John A. Vignone, PSD, Director of Business Administration gave a funding update to illustrate how the final state budget has impacted Parkland. In short, the District received $277,696 less than anticipated in state funding. The District had a back-up plan in place to overcome any state funding shortfall. Bond savings will help along with increased revenues and decreases in expenditures. The full update can be found here.
