This week in literacy we reviewed past skills. We found a new site that we like called storybird. We can write stories with other people in our class. You can go to to write your own story. Also, we have people from Great Britain and New Zealand commenting on our blogs. You can comment too, here is the link: KIDBLOG.ORG. We then started a "Blog of the Day" where we blog each day and then vote for the best blog of the day! That has been an exciting experience to read what kids from around the world are saying!

Mrs. Westerfield's class (Mrs. Blumer's sister), we did a Todaysmeet with them, where we can talk to them and ask them questions. We learned more about where they live and what they like to do. A lot of them hunt, we got to bond with them a lot!

Thursday, we had 2nd graders come over to learn about our tablets because they are getting them next year. We showed them apps, websites, curriculum loft, DRIVE, and so much more! At the end we took pictures of them and made them into a photogrid. We are going to share them with their class.

We took our Unit 9 test this week! We will get our scores next week, I think everyone did really well! We also did a lot of multiplication problems on the board. We even learned how to multiply 3 digit by 3 digit problems, that was very fun! I hope we can do 4 digit by 4 digit next week. We had our last timed fact test on Friday! We are all ready to pass to 4th grade!

Social Studies

In Social Studies this week we started our state research project. We each have a state for ourselves and we like that state very much. We have to find all the state symbols and nickname. We even have to find pictures of our state and places to visit there. It is going to be very fun to learn about the other states!
