A message from the health office
Cold and flu season has arrived. We have started seeing an uptick in illnesses, including the flu, common cold, and other respiratory illnesses across the community. Here are a few reminders to help keep your students, your family, and others healthy as we head into the holiday season:
Cover your cough
Keep your student home if they are not feeling well - find the guidelines here
Drink plenty of fluids
Wash hands frequently
Test for COVID (we have home tests available at school - just ask the Health Office if you would like one sent home or if you would like to pick one up)
Non-Academic Personal Property:
Students should not bring personal items such as toys, card collections, footballs, soccer balls or similar sports equipment to school. These items may be misplaced or stolen and can be a disruption to learning. If a teacher wishes to have students bring such items to school for a special event, parents will be notified. We appreciate your support.
Join Lego League Explore!
During this 14-week program, teams of students, led by parents/guardians, will explore, build and program a motorized LEGO model and create a presentation while also learning critical thinking and teamwork skills. Teams will present what they have learned to judges at a celebratory exhibition. LEGO League Explore is a great way to reinforce skills already used in the classroom while also strengthening parent/ guardian-child bonds.
Registration details available online! Register at mvpschools.org/RegisterCommunityEd.

Did you know?
A new tool allows staff to communicate safely and directly with families and secondary school students via text message, allowing for two-way conversations and real-time replies. Since the launch of TalkingPoints in October, teachers, families and students have exchanged more than 48,000 messages.

Please complete the Online Data Verification for the 2022-2023 school year
If you haven't already done so, please make sure we have the most up-to-date information for your student in our system for the upcoming school year by completing the Online Data Verification in ParentVUE for each of your students before the first day of school on September 6th.
Incorrect or outdated information prevents us from being able to contact you with important information and inhibits our ability to reach you in case of illness or emergency.
To update your information please see the directions below:
● If you already have a ParentVUE account, please log in and click the Online Data Verification button in the upper right-hand corner. Complete the updates as requested.
● If you don’t yet have a ParentVUE account, first follow the ParentVUE Set Up Instructions, included, here, to create an account. Next, follow the Online Data Verification Directions, here, to log in and complete your enrollment.
New Payment System for Student Meal Accounts
The Nutrition Services Department is using a new system for meal accounts this school year called Titan Family Solutions, which has replaced PayPams. All existing account balances have been transferred to Titan automatically, but families need to create an account on the new platform in order to continue adding funds.
Click here to create an account with Titan and add money to your child’s meal account. Instructions are available here.

Riding the Bus and Food/Drink
While riding the bus, students are expected to keep all food and drink in their backpacks. This expectation prevents choking incidents, exposure to life-threatening allergens, and promotes bus sanitation.
Building Security Procedures
A visitor screening system helps track visitors and volunteers at each school, providing a safe and monitored environment for students and staff. When parents come to pickup their child(ren), or visitors check in, they will be asked to present a valid state issued ID for entering into the system.
Phone Numbers/Staff Directory
Staff phone numbers and email addresses are available on the Bel Air Website at: Bel Air Staff. To reach a teacher via email: firstname.lastname@mvpschools.
