The B.Y.E. Buzz
April 4, 2022
Notes from the office
The Kindness Krew is having a diaper drive for those that have been affected by the tornados. Please bring packages of diapers (any size) to Mrs. Ottaviano's room in the green hall. We will collect them through Friday.
Please help us recycle and earn a bench for our school! We have collected over 200 items but have several 100 more to go! If every student could bring at least 2 items we would meet our goal. See info below!
We need your plastic!
Our school qualified for an opportunity to benefit the school and the planet--by recycling #2 plastics! Boston Mountain Solid Waste Company will melt down #2 plastics to make a heavy-duty bench for our school. We need to collect 2000 plastic bottles/containers by May 1 to win the bench.
We are requesting that you send us your bottles/containers so we can hit this goal. Students my bring the items to Mrs. Huffmaster's classroom (room 208) in the mornings or after school.
We cannot accept clear jugs/bottles/containers-they must be solid. When in doubt, check to see if you can see light through it-if you can, we can't use it.

Counseling Lesson Theme- Perseverance
For the month of April, we are focusing on the word perseverance. Perseverance is the drive to keep working even when things get hard and you want to quit.
Practice it!
Help your child learn to persevere by engaging in difficult tasks with him/her. Buy a large puzzle, learn and perfect a new skill, etc.. Find something to do together and commit to pushing each other through the challenge.
Read About it!

Talk About it!
What do you think perseverance means and why is it important?
Tell me about a time when it was hard to get through a challenge. How did you feel afterward?
What are some things that are hard for you to push through, and how can I help you?
What are 3 goals you have? What may be some challenges to meeting these goals? What will happen if you don’t give up?
Thank You
