Sick Child Guidelines

Henry Families,

I would just like to remind everyone to err on the side of caution and if your child is exhibiting ANY symptoms please keep them home. This will help us to maintain the sense of normalcy we have right now. Please adhere to the following guidelines:

If your child has any of the following symptoms: a runny nose, fever, cough, fatigue, headache, nausea/diarrhea, sore throat, loss of taste or smell, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, muscle or body aches keep them home. Please note that COVID-19 is not the only reason that a sick child needs to stay home. Children that are sick with any symptomatic and/or possibly infectious illness do not need to be at school.

• If your student has been sick and the symptoms have not resolved within 48 hours they must have a doctor's note to return.

• If your student receives a Covid test they may NOT return until we have received the results.

• For all the information pertaining to Covid-19 please check out the District 11 website. www.D11.org/returntolearn.

• If you know that your child will be absent or late please call the attendance line 328-7212. You can call this number 24 hours a day

Thank you!

Ginger Ernst, Principal

Social Emotional Learning

Did you know that Henry Elementary is a Capturing Kids' Hearts National Showcase School? As part of our CKH model, we will have Lisa Hartman joining the Henry Elementary family next year as our full-time counselor. Lisa will be working with all students and implementing a Social Emotional Learning Curriculum called Random Acts of Kindness.

Studies show it just takes one caring adult in a child’s life to have a positive impact on them and their journey to success. In D11, we know our staff members are beloved, from our support team, to our educators, our volunteers, to our administrators! Share your stories of how a D11 staff member positively impacted you or your child(ren)’s life on social media by using #D11PowerOfOne. You may also tag the District @cssd11 on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
