Muraski Memo
Week of September 3rd
Did you see this in the Strongsville Post last weekend?
Thank you to Learning Express Toys!
Every year her store likes to give back to our Strongsville Community as a thank you for shopping Small Business and supporting us!
This year they did a giveaway on theirr facebook page, which Strongsville residents went ahead and picked what elementary school their child/children were attending this school year.
Muraski had 64.6% of the votes! Muraski won all different games for the school to use!
Are you Interested in Volunteering at Muraski?
Throughout the year, parents and community members play a vital role in many educational activities that directly benefit the students and staff of Strongsville City schools. There are a variety of different volunteer opportunities which can work into almost any schedule. We provide flexible hours so you can help out as much or as little as you want.
For the 2018-2019 school year, we are once again asking our parents for involvement. This is the Activities/Form for volunteers. If you are interested in any of these areas, please check the appropriate box and return this form to your child’s teacher. We welcome any help and support you can give.
Visitor Reminder:
When you check in, we will need to see your driver's license to log you into the Raptor system. We will only need to do this once, as you will be logged into the system. The Raptor Visitor Management System is designed to instantly screening each visitor to protect students, faculty and staff.
Please make sure that you see Mrs. Surak or Mrs. Cubar in the office each time. You must always be given a pass to move beyond the office lobby area at all times.
Thank you for your support in keeping our students and staff safe at all times.
REMINDER OF THE DISTRICT POLICY...Electronic Devices (phones, smartwatches, etc)
Reminder to parents regarding district policy.
Students are expected to refrain from using personal electronic devices while in school unless directed to by classroom teachers.
Electronic devices are to be utilized during the school day as specified by the classroom teacher and school administration. Students are not to use these electronic devices in a manner that interferes with classroom instruction. The school district will not be responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen property. Principals or their administrative designee(s) are authorized to search the contents of a student's electronic device if the principal or his/her administrative designee(s) reasonably suspects that the contents of the electronic device contain evidence of a student's violation of a criminal statute or a school rule.
Mrs. Peters translation.....if you bring a phone or smartwatch to school, keep it in your bookbag turned off unless directed by a teacher.
Dismissal Procedure at Muraski for students who are picked up, and do not ride the bus
At the end of the school day we have many students who are picked up by their parents/grandparents/babysitters/friends. It is so important that we make sure that your child goes home with the person that you want them to go home with. Starting on Wednesday, we will have a substitute for Mrs. Cubar. Please be patient as it will take time for our new Educational Aide (Debby Shostek and Jan Coan) to get to know you and the procedure herself.
Here is the procedure for Pick-ups: This will start at 3:25pm
- Parents arrive at the school and come inside at 3:20pm.
- Parents wait for their children in the cafeteria on the right hand side of the room (there will be a table down for you to sit and wait)
- Pick ups will be called on the PA system, and then your child will come to the cafeteria to find you.
- You exit the building with your child and we will see you the next day! :)
