Photosynthesis and Respiration
Respiration- C6H12O6+6O2 --> 6CO2+6H2O
Anaerobic- Fermentation (makes alcohol)
Light Dependent Reaction-In light-dependent reactions, the energy from sunlight is absorbed by chlorophyll and converted into chemical energy in the form of electron carrier molecules like ATP.
Light Independent Reaction- In light independent reactions (the Calvin cycle), carbohydrate molecules are assembled from carbon dioxide using the chemical energy harvested during the light-dependent reactions.
Cellular respiration, glycolysis, occurs outside of the mitochondria in the cytoplasm of the cell.
Organisms that do CELLULAR RESPIRATION:
- In short – almost ALL organisms undergo cellular respiration (also known as AEROBIC RESPIRATION)!
Photosynthesis- plants and some bacteria
