This week is the start of the school year and a bizarre schedule for everyone. Please pay attention to the band calendar to find the practice times. Students will likely have days when they will not be attending class at the school building, but will have a practice scheduled on the campus in the evening. Please be on time to practice.

Regular Practices Begin This Week

Please consult the band calendar for the most up to date practice dates and times. If there is a change to this schedule, we will let you know. The band calendar is updated as soon as a change occurs.

Tuesday: 5:30pm-8:30pm (ALL)

Answers to Some FAQ's

Do we have practice on Monday, August 3rd and Tuesday, August 4th?

-YES! We will have band practice, as viewed on the band calendar on August 3rd and August 4th.

Will students come to practice on the days they are at home?

-YES! Students will attend practice on their "at home" school days.

Why have weekly practice times changed for the winds?

-Practice times for the winds have moved to evenings to help students on "at home" days secure transportation to the school.

What will football game days look like?

-Specific information regarding football games will be released as we receive it! We appreciate your patience.

Show Shirts

The show shirt design for "The Music of Queen" is in progress. A link to the webstore will be shared in the next week and you’ll be able to purchase shirts and other swag. Our goal is to have the first shirt order delivered and distributed before the first football game on August 21st. Please setup text notifications and you’ll be one of the first to receive the link to the store.

Carpool to Practice

If your child is having trouble finding a ride to practice, consider carpooling. If you wish to carpool, please send parent name, student name, cell phone # and home address via email to Carrie Brewer Thomas at events@fcbands.org.

If you have made payments for June and July, please hold off making another payment until we announce the total adjusted Marching Band fee. The total paid up to now should be $300. If you have not paid your June or July payment, please do so now.

Important: The following information has changed. Please review it carefully.

Senior Banners and buttons are a tradition for the FC Marching Band. We are continuing this tradition in 2020. Band seniors will wear their marching uniforms and color guard seniors will wear their guard jackets.

• Tuesday, August 11th, 4:00pm - Make-Up Date

If you would like to purchase a banner, they are $40 each. The order form and payment is due during your photo session. Print the order form below. Order forms for button photos will be be sent out when the remaining students have their picture taken.

Please remember to wear a mask and keep a 6 feet distance while waiting to have your photo taken.

We will let you know when the banners will be hung. Stay tuned for that information.

NOTE: Juniors, Sophomores, and Freshman will have button photos taken with their show shirt in a couple weeks.

All seniors should have completed the senior questionnaire that was due on Friday, July 24th. If that has not been done, please complete it now. This information will be printed in the program for Senior Night. Please be sure to consider answers thoughtfully. This will be a treasured keepsake for years to come.

We hold a band parent meeting on the 3rd Wednesday of each month or more often as needed. We use this opportunity to share important updates with band parents and answer questions. Please plan to attend. We are currently meeting via zoom until the conditions allow for us to meet in person. You can find all upcoming band parent meetings on the band calendar. The next scheduled meeting is at 7:30pm on Wednesday, August 19th.

You have until August 14th to sell flowers and earn money towards your current or future band fees. You will earn $6 for each flower you sell! Download or print the student and customer information sheet below. You can promote the fundraiser online by sharing the customer flyer and directing them to our online store at https://bit.ly/3f08QZe. If you have questions, please contact Kristen Rogers, Fundraising Coordinator, at Fundraising@fcbands.org.

We prefer all orders to be completed online. However, if you prefer you can take paper orders and collect cash or checks (payable to you). If you choose that option, you MUST enter and pay for all your paper orders online by August 14th. NO paper forms, cash, or checks will be accepted by FCBands. You can print the form below. We have received 93 applications to be considered in our first round of vendor selections. The Craft Fair Committee will be reviewing these applications in August. The deadline for submitting applications to be considered in the 2nd round of vendor selections is September 30, 2020. Encourage any crafters you know to apply.
