Celebrating Catholic Schools Week
Please tune into one of the St. Damian Masses on Sunday as We Celebrate our Parish!
On Monday, as we Celebrate our Community, our students will write letters to our elected officials.
Tuesday, We Celebrate our Students. They may be out of uniform, we will play all school BINGO. And, stop by outdoors to take photos with your children before or after school! We've got a special surprise planned!
On Tuesday, we also celebrate our Heart of the School Recipient. We will announce this individual after the 9 a.m. mass. We invite you to tune in to witness this very special and heartfelt recognition.
Wednesday, we Celebrate our Nation. The children will write card to our St. Damian graduates serving us in the military. We will also be sending them care packages as a gift from you.
Thursday, as We Celebrate Vocations and Careers, a handful of professionals in the area will be zooming with your children to discuss their careers.
And, on Friday, We Celebrate our Teachers, Staff, and Volunteers. We will dismiss early to provide those people so dear to us a boxed lunch! Our Student Council has also come up with a little game "Guess that Teacher!"
We want to make the most of Catholic Schools Week this year and we hope your children will enjoy this opportunity!
Celebrating Miss Buche!
Congratulations to #SchoolHero Jenna Buche, first-grade teacher at St. Damian School and Preschool Academy. This is Jenna's third year teaching at St. Damian School; she previously taught preschool. She is a proud Catholic school alumna as she attended Catholic school from preschool through college. She loves to foster a love of learning in her students and see the development in her students throughout the year.
“Miss Buche has gone above and beyond the calling of teaching every single day. She is constantly innovating new and exciting ideas for her students, both [for] in-person and remote [students]. Her teaching has been flawless, and her love for her students shows in everything she teaches," said one of the many parents that nominated Miss Buche.

The Search Offered at St. Damian
Dear St. Damian Ministries and Organizations,
We are excited to announce that St. Damian will be offering The Search, a multi-part video based spiritual experience from the producers of Formed.org. The videos are beautifully done and interesting. In other words, they are not boring! Chris Stefanick is the narrator. Chris is a well-known and popular Catholic evangelist. If you haven’t heard him before, we know you’ll remember him after you see the videos!
We promise you that The Search is interesting to watch. However, it is not meant to be watched alone. That’s why we are beginning to form small groups – both in-person and virtual. There is a small Participant Guide that goes along with the videos. It, too, is well done and provides great questions for discussion.
So, if you haven’t thought about Lent yet, think about joining The Search video and small groups. There are 7 episodes to begin the first week of Lent and end by Palm Sunday. There are a variety of options provided to fit your schedules:
Narthex: Mondays, 1:00pm
Wednesdays, 1:00pm
Grimmel Center: Saturdays, 9:30am
Zoom virtual meetings:
Tuesdays, 10:00am
Tuesdays, 7:00pm,
Thursdays, 7:00pm
You can register for the above on Sign Up Genius.
There are other options, too. You can meet with your groups on your own just by going to Formed.org. Every parishioner has access and it is free. You can find The Search under Faith Formation. The Pastoral Center has the Participant Guides, $5 each. OR, you can watch the videos and form your own groups with family and friends … and maybe the neighbors. The possibilities are endless!
Plan NOW to make the most of this Lent. You won’t regret it.
A Snow Day Like No Other
The Tax Credit Scholarship Donations!

I am pleased to let you know that for the 2020-21 school year, we received over $100,000 in gifts. This allowed 16 of our students to attend St. Damian School.
