Spotlight on Classrooms
Ms. Nelms
used Harkness in her classes. She talks to students about how to get involved in a conversation without raising their hands or dominating the conversation. She also spends time talking about how to take turns, help peers who are less comfortable talking, and make eye contact. She shares with them stems that help them initially get involved in the conversation. Students have amazingly productive discourse as they made comparisons between the past and today.
Mr. Thomas, Mr. Jonsson, Ms. Schall, Ms. Heninger
Thanks to extra cold temperatures in November, the PE team got to have four classes in the gym --at one time. Due to their teamwork and organization, their students know exactly what to do and when to do it. Students are given directions one time and they all go where they need to be. You'd barely know how many students are there because they move in such an organized way from activity to activity. This is no easy task!
How may I help you?
