Mrs. Stasney's 3rd Grade News
For the week of May 27th
The last week of school is upon us! I cannot believe how quickly this year has flown by! I want to thank you all for such a great year! Your support, your communication, and your involvement in the children's education have made this year one of the best!
Please check with your child to make sure that he/she has returned all of their library books as well as any other school-owned items!
The annual 3rd grade class picnic is tomorrow (Monday), May 27th from noon until 1 pm at the Tiffany Park Pavilion. If you are coming to enjoy the picnic with the kids, please meet us at the pavilion at noon. There is no need to check in with the front office first.
If you would like to take your child home early from the picnic, I will have a clipboard for you to sign out on. Please don't leave the picnic with your child without signing him/her out!
If you are bringing your child lunch and you are running late (you won't be there at noon), please call or text my cell phone (979-574-1790). The kids kind of start to freak out if they don't see their mom/dad/grandma/grandpa/whoever when we go outside. A message that you're on your way will help!
Wet & Wild Day
Thursday is Wet & Wild Day during specials (7:45-8:30 am). The specials teachers will be supervising the students in various water activities such as an inflatable water slide and playing in the splash pad. Here are some reminders:
-The students need to wear their bathing suits to school under dress-code appropriate clothing.
-The students should come to school with their sunscreen already applied. I will not be able to apply it for them, and we do not have mirrors in the student restrooms.
-Girls who choose to wear any kind of two-piece bathing suit (including tankinis) must wear a t-shirt over their bathing suits during the water activities. Boys should wear swim trunks, not Speedo-type suits.
-Please send students with a towel and a dry change of clothes (don't forget underwear)!
-The 6th six weeks awards assembly begins at 9 am in the cafeteria. The students will not have time to change before attending. Students who are remaining at school will change into their dry clothes after the awards assembly.
After the Awards
As noted above, the 6th six weeks awards assembly begins at 9 am in the cafeteria. Immediately upon returning to the classroom, I am hoping to show the end-of-year slideshow (I still haven't gotten my laptop back from the Tech people yet but I should have it by Thursday). You are invited to join us in the classroom to watch the slideshow. It will include pictures from the entire school year! :)
If you would like to check your child out early at that time, I will have a clipboard for you to sign him/her out on!
