Parent Engagement Liaison

My name is Amy Francis and I am the parent engagement liaison for Cowan Road Middle School. This is my 13th year in education, 6th year as a counselor, 2nd year at CRMS, and FIRST year as the parent engagement liaison. I am excited to help facilitate a closer connection between our school, families, and community. Please feel free to contact me with any wonderful ideas, comments, or suggestions! You know best what your child needs to be successful.

Title I Annual Meeting Information

Our Annual Title 1 Meeting was held August 23, 2022 at 9:00am virtually and 6:00pm in person. We had the most attendance we've had in a while! Thank you for those who showed up. I know your students really appreciated that free ice cream!

Parent and FAMILY engagement is important now more than ever re-entering the post pandemic world. Thank you families for all you do!

Parents' Right to Know

In compliance with the requirements of Every Student Succeeds Act, the Griffin-Spalding County School System would like to inform you that you may request information about the professional qualifications of your student’s teacher(s) and/or paraprofessional(s).

The following information may be requested:

  • Whether your child's teacher has met state qualification and licensing criteria for the grade levels and subject areas in which the teacher provides instruction
  • Whether the teacher is teaching under emergency or other provisional status through which state qualification or licensing criteria have been waived
  • Whether the teacher is teaching in the field of discipline of the certification of the teacher.
  • Whether the child is provided services by paraprofessionals and, if so, their qualifications.

Griffin-Spalding County Parent Resource Center

Did you know that the Griffin-Spalding County School System also has a Parent Resource Center? Find hands on activities, books and brochures for your student in our District Parent Resource Center. The center is designed to provide educational resources for parents to help your student succeed academically. Parents can also find computers with internet access at the center. The best part is resources are FREE! You can find the Parent Resource Center located in the Parent Services Building, Room 121 on 234 E. Taylor Street, Griffin, GA 30224. Upcoming Opportunities for Family Engagement

October 20th 4:30pm-6:30pm- Literacy Night. Come visit our Living Wax Museum. Learn all about our favorite people of historical significance.


October 27th 5:00-7:00pm- Safe Treat-Load up the little Goblins and bring them to CRMS for a safer alternative to trick or treating. Play games, load up the candy bags, and have a howling good time! CANCELLED.
