Parent-Teacher Conferences

Please sign up for your Parent-Teacher Conference before Monday at 5:00 PM.

Parent-Teacher Conferences are coming up later this month (October 20th, October 22nd, October 27th). We encourage all families to attend conferences as communication and collaboration are essential for your child(ren) to continue to have a strong school year. This year we are offering an in-person, Google Meet or a phone conference. If you are a parent with more than one child at OPR, please allow for at least 10 minutes between your conferences. We have found that back-to-back conferences do not allow for travel from classroom to classroom or transition between teachers.

Click on the day you would like to attend and sign up with each teacher. All classroom teachers and specialists are listed.

Wednesday, October 20th (6:00 PM - 8:00 PM)
Friday, October 22nd (1:10 PM - 3:10 PM)
Wednesday, October 27th (6:00 PM - 8:00 PM)

Cell Phones/Smart Watches/Electronic Devices in School

Here's a reminder from the Student and Parent Handbook (Link: WPS Elementary Handbook)

Students may not use cellular phones or other electronic devices during the day. If students need to have one of the above devices for an out of school purpose, the device must be kept turned off and remain in the backpack. If a student is found to have an electronic device in his or her possession, outside of the backpack, it will be kept in the office until a parent is able to pick it up.

"Electronics" includes Smart Watches.

OPR Helpful Health Office Info

  1. Thank you to our OPR community for following our updated Illness Policy! We are very grateful for your caution!

  2. Please pack extra masks for your children! Masks get wet and lost and they may need a new one.

  3. For the students in the lower grades, please consider packing an extra outfit in your child’s backpack. Accidents happen and the extra clothes will be very helpful if needed.

  4. The Health Office is accepting any donations of new packs of underwear and socks to be used for those children who may need them. We are also accepting any gently used leggings, shorts or pants in smaller sizes. Thank you for considering!

Illness Protocol

COVID-19 symptoms vary from person to person. Students who are ill or show symptoms of COVID-19 should stay home, and parents should call the school to report the student’s absence. Symptoms of COVID-19 include the following:

  • Fever (100.0° Fahrenheit or higher), chills, or shaking chills

  • Cough (not due to other known cause, such as chronic cough)

  • Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath

  • New loss of taste or smell

  • Sore throat, when in combination with other symptoms

  • Muscle aches or body aches

  • Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea when in combination with other symptoms

  • Headache, when in combination with other symptoms

  • Fatigue, when in combination with other symptoms

  • Nasal congestion or runny nose (not due to other known causes, such as allergies) when in combination with other symptoms

Any student with these symptoms should not be sent to school and should be taken to a healthcare provider and COVID-19 testing site. Students may return to school when they have had a negative PCR test or Abbot BinaxNow antigen test, AND are fever-free for 24 hours without Tylenol or Ibuprofen, AND other symptoms are significantly improved.

Walpole Recycling Poster/Video Contest

The Town of Walpole Recycling Committee in conjunction with the Board of Health and the Walpole High School Green Team is sponsoring a Poster and Video Contest about Composting, Waste Management, and other ways to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.

The motivation for the contest is Walpole's rising cost of waste management. The hope is that these posters and videos will help Walpole citizens brainstorm ways to reduce their trash. The topics for the posters could be: ideas for reducing trash by reusing and recycling items, composting food scraps, or any other creative ideas to help the environment while reducing Walpole's trash production.

This contest will have two components with multiple winners:

There will be a monthly winner for Walpole citizens of all ages. Participants who want to post videos and posters to Facebook will need to tag the Walpole Recycling Committee's Facebook page and like or follow their page. Each video or poster can only be the monthly winner once, and the deadline is at the end of each month(June, July, August, September, and October).

However, all of the posters and videos submitted to the official email below will be considered for the overall contest. In recognition of America Recycles Day, the deadline will be November 15, 2021.

Videos are limited to 30 seconds. Digital Posters or photos of traditional hand drawn posters can be submitted. Please send your submissions to:
