Art News Update

It's time again for the Annual PMES Art Club Exhibit at the Hamilton Mill Library. Our exhibit will run from 12/4/15 - 1/5/15. We hope you and your family will stop by and see the Letter Art Exhibit from our awesome 4th and 5th grade Art Club members.

Upcoming and Continuing Units of Study

We will be reading and comparing texts to find out similarities and differences.

Using our comparison texts, we will write informational comparison pieces.

Word Study

We will begin our new Word Study Unit #17 the week we return. Those words will be tested the following Wednesday.

We will be starting dividing with unit fractions and whole numbers. In fifth grade, students do not need to know how to divide fractions by fractions. They are only responsible for knowing how to divide with unit fractions (any fraction with a numerator of 1) and whole numbers. The Quarter 3 Math Resource Round-Up has been started and linked below. Be sure to check this document frequently as it is updated as we move through the Quarter 3 units.

Science/Social Studies

When we return from break, students will be beginning our unit covering World War I. We will look at causes of World War I and how the United States became involved.
