Message from the Admin Team

"The time is always right to do what is right." Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

As we enter the final two weeks of the first semester the time is right for our students to connect with their teachers to do whatever they can to improve their grades. Our teachers are rested and prepared to help, please encourage your student to reach out via email, canvas, or face to face.

The Admin team would like to send a extra special thank you to all of our parents and guardians who have spent time throughout this winter driving their student to and from activities, spent extra hours helping with class assignments, or attended our McKay events. Your efforts and energy are appreciated, thank you for making this a special first semester.

Take care

Shout Outs (Academic, Athletics, Activities

This was a busy week for so many of our programs at McKay High School.

A few highlights featured our Boys Basketball team traveling to Dallas and brought home a 54-50 victory! Great Job Boys!

We also celebrated our Seniors on the Girls Wrestling Team. Shout outs go to the following Royal Scots, Aaralyn Almonte, Brenda Ceja, Karen Ceja Vega, Lizeth Chavez, Monze Diaz, Anabel Rivera Ceja, and Jaleata Rodriguez.

Later in the week both our Boys and Girls Wrestling teams traveled to Central Oregon to compete at the Northwest Classic. Below you can read about some of the success experienced by each side.

Our Lady Scots wrestlers competed in the Oregon Classic this weekend competing against some of the best teams in the state. Our girls battled through all kinds of adversity this weekend and still were able to battle through and compete and bring home a fourth place trophy!

Our Royal Scots Boys Wrestling team took 1st place in their bracket this weekend after beating both Silverton HS 40-39 and Centennial HS 39-33. McKay boys wresting went 3-2 this weekend beating teams they recently lost to because of their hard work and dedication.

Safety Updates

Hallway Clean-up

We all can recognize the importance of students being in the classroom. When students are not in class this impacts so much of what we are trying to achieve here at McKay High School. Last week we increased our efforts to clear our halls. Administrators, Behavior Specialists, as well as our Campus Safety worked together to assure that students were in the correct spaces. Any student that was out in the halls 30 minutes after the start of the period were taken to the Scots Center to speak with an adult regarding their attendance. Likewise students who reported to school late from lunch were required to have the same conversations. If you were contacted by the school due to the actions of your student, we appreciate any support that you might provide for us. Despite what students might say, their presence is important in all of their classes. Together we will make a difference for all of our Royal Scots.
