Week 13 - 11/30/2018: Monthly PBIS focus is HONESTY
A HUGE Thank you to McDonald's for supporting our school! The Monroe family, owners of our local McDonald's, increased what we made from McTeacher night and wrote us a check for $1000.00!! Thank you so very much to the Monroe's, and to Liz Delgado, manager of our local store. We'll do this again in April!
December's focus for PBIS is GENEROSITY. This ties in with out Canned Food Drive and Holiday Gift Shop.
Important: If you are calling in that your student will be absent, PLEASE use the attendance line, This is option 2 from the main menu, or you can dial direct at 503-844-1633. Thank you!
Also important: The drop off and pick up line is becoming a huge safety issue. I know it can be frustrating to wait in line, but there have been many close calls with staff or students getting hit by a vehicle that is racing out. PLEASE be patient and wait in line, we are doing the best we can! Also, if you are parking and walking your student into the building, you should not be walking between the buses! This too is very unsafe. Please cross behind the buses and walk in the building the way the students dropped off do.
There is a PTO meeting on Dec. 4, at 6PM in the library. If you have been wanting to attend but can't come during the day, this is your chance! Hope to see you there!
Tomorrow is the Hillsboro Holly Days celebration and our North Plains Choir will be joining Jackson Elementary Choir to share some holiday music! If you are going to the celebration and are around about 4:30, the music will happen next to Starbucks by the Civic Center. Should be fun!
We are going to have some fun Spirit Days the next three Fridays! Dec. 7 will be Show Some Spirit Day: Wear navy blue and yellow, and of course NP Hawks shirts! Dec. 14 is Hooray for Hat Day! and Dec. 21 is Wacky Winter Day, holiday attire accepted:)
A few needs have come to light that I wanted to share with you. First, our staff room is in need of a new fridge as ours is falling apart and about to die:( If you are thinking of getting a new fridge for your home and need a place for your old one to go, we would love to take it off your hands!
Here are a few other things that we could use if you have any lying around:
- large box like refrigerator box or large tv, etc.
- CD player
- old ipods or nanos that can still have music put onto them
- yoga balls
- small fleece blanket
- lamps (not torch lamps)
Thanks for considering!
Have a wonderful week!
