PRE-K 3 NEWS!
JUAN DIEGO ACADEMY OCT. 4, 2016
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Dear Pre-K 3 Parents,
We are now on the first week of October and we are excited about our new seasonal themes coming up like Autumn, Halloween, and of course all the new vocabulary that we are going to learn.
We want to say thank you to all the parents who returned their monthly survey. It is very important for us to know the right way to reach our loving students. If you haven’t returned it yet, please send it in with your child.
Next week we will be having our annual field trip to Spooner’s Farm. It is on Wednesday the 12th and it is a half-day. The bus arrives at noon or if you prefer to take your own child in your car you may do that. We need to meet at Spooners by 12:30 p.m. The fee is $6.00 per child and per adult. You can start sending in the money starting tomorrow and you can also send in the permission filled out as soon as we send it to you. Checks made payable to Holy Rosary Regional School.
Tomorrow is the last day to send the chocolate sale money in to the teachers.
There is no school on Friday. We will be attending “ Teacher Excellence Day” at St. Charles school.
WHAT ARE WE LEARNING THIS WEEK:
This week we are learning about “My Family.” The children will learn who the members of their family are and be able to recognize them by name. Tio (uncle), Tia (aunt), Grandfather (abuelo), Grandmother (abuela), Primo (cousin).
We are learning lots of color names and number names 1-10.
This week we introduced the letter “Mm” and so we are singing, dancing, tracing, cutting and creating different ways to recognize this letter.
In Religion, we are learning about Creation and we are talking about how the world created the world in 7 days. This week the children will learn about Adam and Eve.
The new song we introduced this week in our daily circle time is “En la Arca de Noe” (Noah’s Ark) and introduced animal sounds. They imitated the sounds of a monkey (mono), wolf (lobo), elephant (elefante), snake (serpiente), vaca (cow), perro (dog), and cat (gato).
We have some family songs we are singing in Spanish and you can find them on YouTube:
Cancion de la letra “M.” “El amor de Dios es Marivilloso” “Cuando un Cristiano baila” “El sonido de los animals” “Los números del 1 al 10 “ y “Canciones de los colores.”
If you have any questions or ideas, please do not hesitate to email it to us.
We are more than happy to hear from our parents.
Have a wonderful week and best regards,
Ms. Rocio and Ms. Marseille
