Kyle Fink

February 2016 Student Portfolio

English 3

Kyle is a good student who likes to work on his own unless we are doing presentation and partner work. I'm looking forward to seeing Kyle's creativity flow in our next unit which will be focused on poetry.

Algebra 2

Kyle has been a little inconsistent in completing his assignments lately and is reluctant to ask for help or any additional explanation unless he is specifically questioned about his understanding. He responds well on the daily warm-ups. He needs to make up his assignment on long division and synthetic division of polynomials he missed due to absence. We are currently studying factoring of polynomials and special products.

U.S. History

Kyle is a good student. He has a tendency to work at his own pace, which is not a problem unless he chooses to socialize while working. He has excellent analytic and critical thinking skills and during class discussions his understanding and interpretation of the assigned problems is enlightening!

In this class we are learning about the Environment in relation to Florida. We do current events so the students can know what is happening in the news for the week. It is a pleasure to have Diana in my class. Kyle is very hard working. Kyle can sometimes procrastinate about doing his work. I am working on this with him so that he can turn his work on time without loosing any points.

Latin 1

The students assessed themselves by translating thirty lines containing all of the new forms they learned in this unit. They are now completing an essay and artwork based on the major deities of the Roman pantheon. Kyle has been breaking out into some creative takes on Latin, including musical accompaniment, a new contribution that I love! I am thrilled with the work he's been consistently producing. I want to give him more opportunities to hear and speak the language, as he is a natural performer of Latin's mellifluous possibilities. We have begun a mini-unit on classical deities represented in fine art, and I look forward to seeing Kyle's own interpretative artwork on Greek and Roman myth.

US History Arts Integration

In US Art, we have chosen the great American illustrator, Norman Rockwell, to help us explore our personal and family values. We are utilizing his illustration techniques to complete our own illustrations. He used photographs and sources for all of his imagery.
Kyle is taking a unique approach, as he always does, to his chosen Rockwell illustration. He always puts forth a concentrated effort on his projects.
