Notes from Dr. Arias
Our first week of school was a hit! We had a very smooth and successful start to 2015-2016. This week was truly a testament to your planning and work in coordinating your staff to welcome nearly 25,000 students. It truly is an amazing sight to see teams of teachers and staff ready to register, feed, nurture, and teach our students. As we start week 2, let’s stay focused, committed, and determined on providing our students with the most effective instruction that will produce great results and an opportunity for an equal life chance.
Have a great week…stay focused...and Lead on!
Welcoming Back our Super Heroes!
Garza ECHS
Garza was recently ranked 16th in the nation by Beating the Odds 2015: Top High Schools for Low-Income Students Newsweek’s “Beating the Odds” list seeks to identify schools that do an excellent job of preparing their students for college while also overcoming the obstacles posed by students at an economic disadvantage. A star next to a school’s name indicates that it meets our Equity measure by helping low-income students score at or above average on state assessments.
