February Students of the Month

RMS has partnered with the Beacon Elks Lodge to recognize students in 6th, 7th and 8th grade each month. Teachers and staff nominate students based on these tenets:
  • Overcoming obstacles
  • Demonstrates respect to the student body and faculty and/or honors and respects others' property.
  • Exhibits behaviors of an upstander.
  • Student is working to his or her potential and/or shows improvement in areas that are challenging.
  • Shows a strong commitment to continuing their education.
  • Demonstrates acceptance and tolerance of the differences in others.
  • Goes above and beyond to show support of others. Demonstrating the ability to work independently.
  • Exhibits good time management/organizational skills.
A committee then reads through the nominations and chooses one student for each grade.

The Elks Lodge comes into school and recognizes the students with a Certificate and donated gift cards from local establishments!

Congratulations to the students below!

February Teacher Lesson of the Month

Just as the teachers get the opportunity to nominate students, the students have the chance at the end of the month to nominate teacher lessons which they felt were engaging, thought provoking, impactful, and/or made them feel special.

The Beacon Elks Lodge, in a new initiative, will now also recognize the teacher which students voted for who plans and implements the lesson of the month with donated gift cards from local businesses. Awesome!

Music in Our Schools Concerts - WOW!

Last week, our RMS Band Students and RMS Chorus Students performed in their own respective concerts at the BHS Theater. Both groups did such an amazing job! Being a member in the audience, it was great to watch all of their hard work and practice pay off into an amazing performance.

It was also great to see our RMS students come together with the BHS Students in a combined piece at the end!

Lastly, kudos to the faculty and staff who helped lead the students to a great night of music and community!
