Walker-Winter Family Update
Great Futures Start Right Here!
Week of May 15, 2023
Hello!
Working for 15 years at Walker has been a wonderful and fulfilling journey. The support that I have received from the staff, students and families has helped me to realize that I have had a positive impact on our Walker community. I need to share with all of you, and with the students on Monday announcements, that I am honored that I have been selected to be principal support for our other WWCSD elementary principals. I am grateful that I will still be an active part in our school district, just in a different capacity. Please embrace Principal Kristen Brickey as she leads Walker-Winter starting for the 2023-2024 school year. Mrs. Brickey is an outstanding leader who has been serving our district in several ways, most recently as principal at Schweitzer Elementary. Although I get emotional when I think of not being with my Walker students, staff and families, I know that my colleague and friend, Mrs. Brickey, and the Walker staff will continue their dedication and excitement for PBL, P2/LLG and our school goals.
As a school, we will focus on the OPM of Appreciation of Beauty and Excellence. We define this as when we notice and value the world's beauty and people's skills. We do not take things for granted. . Fairness is how we believe all people have value. You approach situations with an unbiased mindset and you treat everyone with respect. We look forward to reading, discussing, and watching video clips of this. For more details, please click on Positivity Project for Families Go to Resources then P2 for families or P2 para familias en espanol. Password is P2. Read about ways that your family can support this at home.

As you arrive at the end of the day, If you arrive early, please do not go to the playground. we have recess up to 3:50. For safety purposes, our staff is trained to look for adults who are not part of our staff. Thank you for helping us with this.
