“Father, I am seeking: I am hesitant and uncertain, but will you, O God, watch over each step of mine and guide me.”
St. Augustine of Hippo
From Mr. Merrick
Dear St. Jerome Families,
We appreciate your prayers and support for Mrs. Cimino and her family; we are grateful for her devotion to the Catholic faith as well as her many years of dedication to Catholic education including teaching here at St. Jerome School. Her arrangements may be found here. We plan to have a Mass and tribute to her this spring here at St. Jerome, and we will invite her family to attend as well.
Today is parent teacher conferences; if you have any tech questions, please be sure to reach out to Mr. Dooley (tdooley@sjsphila.org).
This Friday, the students in 1st-8th grades may wear their gym uniforms and a Halloween shirt (appropriate for school and if they would like). We are going to have a Halloween Bingo in the afternoon from 1:15 PM-2:15 PM. Mr. Dooley will send virtual Bingo cards to our Virtual Lions, through Google Classroom, so that they may play along from home. PreK and Kindergarten will also be playing bingo but should follow the dress instructions that were communicated by your child's homeroom teacher.
The St. Jerome apparel orders have arrived and are being sent home the students today. The apparel store will remain open to sell a few items including water bottles, sweatshirts, and masks. These orders close on November 15th. We will be opening a new store in November with some new products in time for Christmas including alumni shirts, winter hats, and pajama pants.
We are planning for a new date for our Race for Education. I will also recognize the October Students of the Month in their classrooms and present them with their certificates and dress down day passes. I will also call their names at the November school liturgy.
Have a great rest of the week; St. Jerome, pray for us!
