School Site Council Meetings are held monthly via Zoom. They are public meetings; therefore, they are open to all who want to learn about the school and how funding and decisions are being made. Elected members serve as part of a voting quorum to ensure shared-decision making and consensus on Federally funded programming. This is also a great forum to discuss ways to better the schooling experience for students. We welcome diverse viewpoints and follow our site norms and bylaws to keep meetings civil and student-centered. Please consider joining us!

Calling TK-4th Grade Parent Volunteers! Please sign up to be a part of the "Make-It-Happen" Team for helping plan 5th Grade Promotion.

It takes parents from all grade levels to pitch in a hand and help plan and set up the 5th-grade promotion, and it's a great opportunity for parents TK thru 4th grade to help AND learn what it takes to put on the event, so the tradition and planning are passed along each year!

Our planning teams include:

• Logistics Team: Help set up the ceremony, stage/chairs/promotion arch, organize pop-ups, tear down and clean up post-ceremony
• Theme Team: Come up with a 5th-grade promotion theme, decorations, music and 5th-grade t-shirts
• Promotion Team: send out save the dates, invites, design program, order student promotion certificates and have the principal sign
• FUN Team: Plan and organize the 5th-grade FUN day (dance or field day, tile/art activity, etc.
• Photographer: Got an eye for snapping photos? Are you an up-and-coming photographer? We are looking for someone to take pictures of 5th graders as they walk across the stage!

5th Grade Promotion Chair Committee

Did you know the Chaparral Garden is open before school and children love to water and do other garden chores before the bell rings? We are currently in need of a Friday "Busy Bee" volunteer to open our Hawks Health Garden from 8:20-8:45 am. This "Busy Bee" volunteer must be PUSD-approved and willing to buzz in before school, open up the garden, encourage exploration and play, and set up tasks for students to sweep, water, help weed, and compost. Want Your Child's Birthday Celebrated on the School Marquee? Making a birthday marquee reservation is a two (2) step process:

1. Complete and submit this Google form. Once correctly submitted, you will receive a confirmation email with a copy of your submission. If you don't receive the confirmation email, the form was not correctly submitted.
2. Make a $20 donation to CAPES via Paypal.

IMPORTANT! Both steps must be completed for your Birthday Marquee reservation to be accepted. Your child's name will appear at some point during the week with a "Happy Birthday" message. Only two birthday sign-ups per marquee, per week...so reserve yours now!

If your student needs any kind of prescription medication administered at school, parent and doctor authorization forms are necessary. This includes temporary antibiotics, inhalers, and EpiPens. Click the links below to access the forms:
