St. Stanislaus STAR

February 24 , 2016

It is a great day in the kingdom of God here at St. Stanislaus School! There are always exciting things happening at school.

Next week we have two wonderful learning assemblies for our students. On Tuesday, March 1, students will get the opportunity to see animals that are not native to our country. Hopefully you have seen the permission slip for your child. Students need this permission slip in order to attend. Parents make the decision about photo opportunities. Next Friday, March 4, is First Friday. Mass that day is at 7:50 a.m. and then there will be an afternoon assembly at 2:10 with Wild Heart, an opportunity for students to share music and nature.

We continue our theme for the Corporal Works of Mercy. “Clothe the Naked” is the assigned theme for February. During our faculty meeting next week, we will discuss a way the school can live this corporal work of mercy, as well as the assigned theme for March, “Visit the Sick.” Families are encouraged to finds ways to live these themes as the domestic church. I would be happy to share family experience in the STAR.

On Saturday, March 5, our second grade students will be receiving their First Holy Communion at 3:00 p.m. What a wonderful celebration for our school community.

Thanks to all who have already sent in the Registration Form for 2016-2017. It is due March 1st.

With today’s STAR you will find a special note regarding the St. Louis Cardinal game on July 7.

School will not be in session on Friday, Feb. 26. Be sure to enjoy the Knights of Columbus Fish Fry.

Have a blessed day!

Lessons from the Classroom

A new feature to the STAR will be this section where lessons from the classroom are shared. It is my hope that parents will begin to see the many wonderful lessons and activities that go on at St. Stanislaus School.

Spanish Club

The Spanish Club took the opportunity to match the following words with pictures. Can you match the following English words with the correct picture and Spanish word: short, holy, brave?
