Rowland High School Colorguard
The Rowland High School Colorguard earned 2nd place at the Winter Guard Association of Southern California (WGASC) tournament against 8 other schools in their division this past Saturday, March 11th at Arcadia High School. They will be competing again this coming Saturday, March 18th at Glen A Wilson High School where they will be aiming to move up to the top spot! The competition is open to the public, and more information can be found on the instrumental music website at rowlandraiderregiment.org

Scholastic Arts Awards
The Scholastic Arts & Writing Awards is a national recognition program inspiring and celebrating creative teens in both Visual and Writing for the last century. Previous Award winners include famous artists like Andy Warhol and authors like Stephen King. Rowland Visual Art students submitted over 50 artworks in the Southern California Region and received great recognition for Rowland High School. Both seniors, Lydia Li's “Chinese Traditional Velvet Flower Hairpin” and Bella Peng's “A Moment of Weakness,” received Gold Key, the highest regional award for their artworks in the Jewelry and Drawing & Illustration categories. Gold Key Regional Finalists Lydia and Bella are now waiting to see if they will receive the National Awards and Scholarships which will be announced later this month. Both Jennifer Li's “My Refrigerator” and Tiffanie Li's “Imposter” received Silver Key awards for their pieces in the Painting and Mixed Media categories. Lastly, Selina Cheng, Alyssa Cherlin, Pengyi Du, Hailey Laygo, Bella Peng, Anthony Tian, and Kaiying Zhang received Honorable Mentions in various categories for the Southern California Region.

Interested in taking a college class next Fall here on campus? Mt. SAC will be offering two courses after school through their Dual Enrollment program. Classes are UC/CSU transferable and are free! We will offer the following classes that will begin on Tuesday/Thursdays, August 29th, 3:35-5:30pm:
- Human Geography (GEOG 2)
- American Sign Language (SIGN 101)
