Nomination FormScience Olympiad
Congratulations to all 25 of our Science Olympiad students! Every student earned a medal in at least one of their events. More importantly, we learned about teamwork under pressure, having fun regardless of outcome, and we got to surround ourselves with some amazing student scientists from around Illinois. The competition has gotten stronger and the complexity of the events has increased, but our students continue to SOAR! To the Science Olympiad students: your coaches, parents, classmates, teachers, and staff are extremely proud of the dedication you have shown all season during practices, working at home, and at the tournament. You should be proud of your accomplishments, but more importantly the journey you just completed! We hope that you will share your experiences with your fellow Elmwood Eagles. Great job! Now it's time to celebrate!
Attention 5th Grade Parents!
Reminder that Yearbook Cover Contest & Yearbook Dedications are due this coming Monday, March 11th - no exceptions. Please reach out to elmwoodyearbook18.19@gmail.com with any questions.

Elementary Golf School
Elementary Golf School is offering an exciting junior golf program at Elmwood School, designed to expose golf to juniors of all ability levels. This program is created and taught by PGA Professionals, to include lesson plans that are fun, safe, and educational. Youngsters will be given the opportunity to experiment with playing a variety of different shots. Our program teaches basic fundamentals, with plenty of variation for practicing and playing. We will not only teach the shots, but also the etiquette, behavior and finer points of the rules of the game. Our instructors will be able to adjust the level of complexity to each child’s individual level of progress. For more information, or to register for the after school golf program at Elmwood School, please visit www.elementarygolfschool.com or call (630) 853-6348.
PE Info
Thanks again to all of those families that helped out during our adventure education unit, rock climbing, this year! Special thanks to Val Goldstein, our parent coordinator for scheduling and Scott McGonagle, volunteer of the month of February! Our success in learning is because of all of your invaluable assistance!
The students learned about the values of teamwork and safety the past few weeks. We look forward to our next adventure unit, roller skating, during the month of April. More information will be coming soon.
All grade levels will continue to learn and practice different styles of teamwork in their PE classes. Students will also learn and practice the fundamental skills of shooting and dribbling a basketball in most of our grade levels.
Other skills that we will be practicing include; throwing, catching, and bowling while using a foam or yarn ball.
Once again, thank you for all of your support in the learning process,
Mr. Howard & Ms. Westlove
PE Teachers
