What it is...
Objectives
* Review Office 365 features such as Email, People, Groups, and Calendar
* Explore how to create, upload, and share files in One Drive
* Explore how to utilize One Drive to organize and increase productivity for classroom activities and PLC’s
Success Criteria:
* Participants know the difference between a student account and teacher account
* Participants can create a distribution list and explain how it is different than a group
* Participants can create a calendar event with the correct time and send an invitation to contacts
* Participants can navigate between shared with me and files
* Participants can create a folder and file
* Participants can upload a folder and file
* Participants can share a file with contacts
* Participants can determine how they can use this with contacts, PLC, and students

Part One: Let's Review
* Overview Outlook, Office 365, One Drive – what is the difference?
* Outlook – email – setting and features
* Calendar – events, sharing, permissions
* People – contacts, groups, distribution group
Task ONE Create a folder, Upload an existing file, Create a new OneDrive file
- Create a new folder
- Upload an existing file into that folder (or drag-and-drop a file into the folder) Click HERE for a document
- Create a new Word Document in that folder
Task TWO: OneDrive Collaboration and Sharing
- Sharing documents and folders -- GREAT FOR SHARING RESOURCES WITH YOUR STUDENTS and your PLC Teams!
- Get link / Invite others/ Shared with
1. Select a OneDrive file or create a new OneDrive file
2. Share the document with a partner and select Can Edit
3. Open your email and look for the shared email from your partner
4. Open the file and edit
5. Open OneDrive and the file shared with your partner (in Shared with Me file)
Task THREE: Attach OneDrive files in email
1. Open your email - create a new message - attach a OneDrive file Notice: default share settings to Can Edit. You can change to "Can View” by clicking Change Permissions
2. Email to a partner
3. Open email and access the shared document
Task FOUR: Immersive Reader in Word Online
- Open the word document uploaded to your personal OneDrive
- Select Open in Word Online at the top left. Notice: you have Edit in Word rights
- Select the View tab and Immersive Reader
- Review the features in Immersive Reader (text size, background, voice speed, nouns, etc). Caution: Do not use the Syllables feature. It doesn't always break the words in the correct place.
Task FIVE: Searching
•Different ways to search-One Drive, Shared with Me, Delve
•Delve
• searches everything that is a document is Office 365 including email attachments
•Can search by people or key word
• allows you to create boards and pin documents that you are working on or need often
•Shows 30 most recent or relevant cards
Task FIVE: Move, Copy, Delete
Part TWO: Calendar
Permissions and New Event
* Notice arrows on the left – Select My Calendar – Calendar (Default Calendar)
* Right Click on Calendar – Select Permissions
o Not Shared
o Availability (Free/Busy)
o Limited Details (Event Name, Time)
o Full Details (Everything- Notes, etc.)
Task ONE: Add an event
Double click the date to add event
Task Two: Sharing
* Calendar sharing can be done with individual users using the web app.
* Right click on Calendar – Select “Share Calendar”
* You can share with individuals using the web app.
* To Share –
o Type in the name of the person that you would like to share your calendar with. *Note you can’t share calendars with groups using the web app – only individuals one at a time.
Task Three: Adding a Shared Calendar
* An email will be sent to individuals the calendar was shared with
* Open the email and select Add Calendar
* The calendar shared with you will appear under Other
Calendars
Color –
* Change the color of calendars for visual effect
* View Calendars Shared with You under Other Calendars
