Think of 5 things you are grateful for today. Each day you can start your day by thinking about 5 things that you are thankful for. (Be Mindful, Selfcare Card deck).

Choral Performance

The Choral concert was held last week to the pleasure of those who attended. We congratulate all of our seniors who participated in perhaps their last concert as a Masco student. I do hope that you continue to pursue your passions when you continue the next phase of your journey, beyond Masco.

COVID Test Kits

COVID test kits went home on Wednesday of last week. We did our best to try and get test kits out to students currently out on internship. If your student is currently out of the building for an internship or did not receive their test kit, you can arrange to pick up your test kit in the High School Main Office. Please call to arrange a time. If you would like us to send it home with a younger sibling, feel free to have your student contact the Main Office.

June Semester Exam Schedule and Conflicts

The final exam schedule is now posted. With the final exam published, it has come to my attention that there may be family obligations in conflict with the published exam schedule. Any request to move an exam or take an exam late, needs to come through my office using this google form. No Semester exam will be administered prior to June 17, 2022, the official start of the exam period. However, I am willing to work with you if there is a conflict that can be resolved within the final exam schedule (June 17 - June 23). If we are unable to find a time during the exam period we can work to find a mutually agreeable time to complete the exam during the summer. The first two summer make-up dates will be Monday, June 27 and Tuesday, June 28 at 9:00 AM. Please know, any student who does not complete their exam before June 23, 2022 will likely have an incomplete until school resumes in August. I realize that some absences are unplanned, and if you miss an exam on a given day, you would work with your teacher directly to reschedule the exam in a make-up window OR plan to complete the exam over the summer.

Tree Planting Event

On Saturday, April 9th, the Masconomet Environmental Club hosted their 2nd annual tree planting event in partnership with the non-profit organization Tree Plenish. The club far exceeded its goal of planting 330 tree saplings to offset the paper usage of our school district in a typical year. Thanks to community support, funding from local businesses, and dozens of volunteers, nearly 450 trees were planted in the Tri-town and beyond. Masco junior Anish Deshpande rallied his elementary school geography club, The Walking Globe, to design posters and help with the planting as well. Click HERE to see Anish’s video recap of the event.

Sights and Sounds of Learning

World History Class

As an opportunity for civic engagement, students in ninth grade world history classes have been learning about nationalism and created flag design proposals for each of the towns in the Tri-Town community. The flags had to be based upon the five key design principles of good flag design (TED Talk HERE) and connect to the unique features of each respective town. Students across the ninth grade voted on the best flags for each of the towns and the winners are below.
