Disney Digest

Volume 1 Issue 2

Greetings, Disney Families!!

We made it! The first week of the 2020-2021 school year is in the books! There have been challenges to get here, but due to the determination, hard work and dedication of our staff, parents and students, we had a very successful start! THANK YOU to our entire Disney community for adapting to the many changes we are facing this year, from navigating virtual learning to wearing masks at school. We truly have the best interest of our students in mind, and I thank you for trusting us with your children as we start a new school year.

Our amazing office staff (thank you Shayla and Connie!!) have fielded many phone calls over the last week with requests for technology assistance, general questions about distance learning, and needs for school supplies. Know that we will continue to provide our community with top-notch customer service throughout the school year. We care about the success of your students and our entire school community. Please do not hesitate to call our office or email me directly with any questions, comments, or concerns. You can reach us at 417-523-3600 or me via email at clfurman@spsmail.org. Our office hours are 8:15 AM- 4:15 PM daily.

I look forward to making connections and creating relationships with you and your student(s) this year! Together, we are DISNEY STRONG!

Car Tags Are Coming

Long-awaited car tags are coming to Disney! In order to expedite our afternoon pickup process in the car line, each family will be assigned a car tag with a number printed on it. You will receive your car tags at drop-off this week.

Upon receipt of your car tag, please cut it out. Each day at dismissal, please hang it on your rear-view mirror, or place it on your driver-side dashboard. This will help our staff easily identify you and retrieve your child from class quickly.

Each family will receive three car tags. Please distribute them to grandparents, babysitters, etc. who may be picking up your children on various days.

I am hopeful that our new car tag system will keep our car line moving quickly in the afternoons. We will continue to evaluate our procedures in order to dismiss students from the building safely and efficiently.
