Winter Warmth Drive
Donate gently used and new winter items
Keeping Johnston kids and families warm
The School Climate Committee at Summit Middle School is collecting winter warmth items to donate to the Johnston Partnership. The Johnston Partnership is a non-profit Organization that has been serving the Johnston community for almost 20 years.
The clothing items will be donated to families in need within the Johnston community and should be gently used or new. Some examples of winter clothing items you could donate to the drive include: hats, boots, gloves, snow pants, coats, scarves, and earmuffs. A range of sizes are needed, including small children up to adult.
The School Climate Committee is also partnering with Active Wellness and Adara Salon and Spa in Johnston for this drive. Winter items can be brought to Summit, Active Wellness or Adara for donating. Conference night is a great time to make a donation as collection boxes will be located at community entrances as well as the main building entrance.
The deadline for donating is Monday, December 2nd when a team of students will help gather collected items and prepare for delivery to the Johnston Partnership. Please contact Summit school counselors Lauren Heston or Shannon Brock with any questions. Thank you for your generosity!
