Friday Flyer
Second Grade
Dear Parents,
We've been practicing saying our speeches for State Hats Day. The children are focusing on projecting their voices, speaking slowly, and enunciating their words. This week, we reduced the homework load so that you and your child can work on hats. Mrs. Kaufman talked to the kids today from a former parent's perspective on the time it takes to work on the hat. For homework next week, children will be asked to practice their speeches while wearing their hats. Children will bring their hats to school on the morning of State Hats Day. After the program, we ask that you leave the hats at school so that the preprimary and primary classes can view the hats up close in our classroom.
For state snacks, we ask that parents bring in the food on the morning of State Hats Day. There will be tables set up in the back of the community hall. Please place the food according to your child's state. Signs for states will be placed in alphabetical order. If your food needs to be kept frozen, you may use the freezers downstairs. If you need to keep your food warm and plan on bringing a crockpot, please let us know so that we can set you up by an electrical outlet. We'd appreciate it if you could have the food ready to distribute in sample sizes. About 50 samples should be fine, but faculty and staff enjoy the food as well so having extra is very welcome!
Thanks and have a wonderful weekend!
