Where are we?
Wilkes county is located in the mountain region of North Carolina. We are surrounded by Ashe, Surry, Yadkin, Alexander, Iredell, Caldwell, Alleghany, and Watauga county's. Wilkes county was named for John Wilkes in 1778. With a population of 68, 740.
Our Government
Our county manager is John Yates, he assumed the position on October 1, 2008. Sarah Call serves as the Clerk of the Board of Commissioners since February 2015. You should come to our next meting and we can talk politics together. Their are 5 members on the board.

What is there to do?
We have a beautiful natural white stone mountain. We also have large winery with an assortment of wines and the Autumn leaf mountains.
Our County Seat: Wilkesboro
The town of Wilkesboro was also named after John Wilkes in 1800 has a population of 3,413. It´s council has 7 members including the manager Ken Noland. The Mayor is Mike Inscore. It is located in the southern region of Wilkes and has community commons and a Dam and Reservoir.
