Dear Foothill Community,

The uncharted path ahead will need lots of communication therefore please make sure all the phone numbers and emails are correct in your Aeries/HomeLink account. Also, besides receiving School Messenger emails and automated calls from me you have the opportunity to opt in for text messages. This process must be opted in by this Friday, August 14; details are below.

Below is the weekly schedule for classes; please plan on your child being "in-class", each day (M-F) at 9am. Explanations for periods and classes will be sent out soon. As for each student's individual schedule (teachers and electives) that will not be live until Friday, August 14. The District's system will roll on that day which means your child and you will be able to log into Aeries/HomeLink sometime after to view. Please understand as it rolls 30,000 students into the finalized schedule it may not visible until Saturday, August 15. If by Sunday, August 16 you cannot see their schedule please contact us.

A key activity you should do with your student right now is have them log into their MDUSD GMAIL. There are detailed instructions and resources below to assist your student and you. Please know this will be the main method of communication and they will need to check their emails daily. It will also be the easiest method for them to ask questions or speak to their teachers.

The weekly schedule shows that we are following a block schedule daily: odd period classes on Monday and Thursday; even period classes on Tuesday and Friday. Every student must also attend an Advisory class which will meet every Wednesday. All of these periods address the instructional minutes and live interaction requirements defined by the State of California.

It is essential your child attempts to log into their District GMAIL account now. Below shows username and password information, should they need it.

Support on GMAIL found on our website. Click here.

If your child has forgotten their password or it is not working please fill out this form and we will get it reset.

This will be the primary method of communication with teachers.

Food service availability during Distance Learning

Currently the MDUSD Food and Nutritional Service Department is working on how curbside food service can continue while students are off campus learning.

Potential Door-to-Door Service: Interest Survey

Unique problems often require unique solutions. Our administrators in the Food and Nutrition Department and Transportation Department have been partnering with leadership from the Teamsters union about the potential for a new door-to-door distribution service during the 2020-21 distance learning period.

School bus drivers would be organized to safely distribute district meals and even school site or classroom materials directly to our families' homes.

As the conversation continues, the district is first looking to establish our community’s level of interest. To let us know, please take our Interest Survey as soon as possible: English | Spanish

Technology: Chromebooks and the internet

If your child will need a device to support them during Distance Learning we will need to prepare a Chromebook. Please submit your request here.

Bring a pen to sign the MDUSD Chromebook Take-Home Permission Form.

Article on preparing your children for remote instruction

This article provides some valuable points to assist in setting up a space for their learning as well as other strategies.

Remember to take a picture on the first day of school, August 17, 2020. This will be a memory not forgotten but memorable and important to document.

REPOST: Online Directory is KONSTELLA

  • If you don't already have an account or haven't added your child to the Foothill Directory, go to

  • Click "Find Your School" in the upper right corner of the page.

  • Search for Foothill Middle School, select it and click Next.

  • Enter your name, email and child's name, then select your child's year of (high school) graduation and click Submit.

  • Admins will verify your information to add you and your child to Foothill

  • Help support Foothill and promote your business with an advertisement in the school directory.

      • If you know of someone who has a business to promote, this is an excellent way to reach more than 900 families in our community. There are multiple ad sizes available from full page to business card size.

All student immunizations must be current to start the school year. Here are the requirements.
