Dancing for the Kids - Riley Dance Marathon
"The" Cascade High School sponsored the 3rd annual Riley Dance Marathon. The event was a huge success and CHS successfully raised $1,925! The Cascade High School worked in conjunction with DePauw University for the Olympic themed event. Activities included mock events from both the winter and summer Olympics, a 3 on 3 basketball tournament, glow in the dark dancing, and a learned dance from DePauw students. Both elementary and high school students enjoyed the festivities from the evening.

When losers are winners: Pennies for Patients
The 5th hour AP Study Hall and Mrs. Russo's 5th hour regular study hall took on the entire school in the annual Pennies for Patients campaign which supports the Indiana Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. They lost...by 6$, and yet they are winners! The school raised more money than it has for several years and individually the AP Study Hall raised more money than any other classroom! Also, Mrs. Russo raised almost $1000! Each year, she devotes a lot of time and personal contributions to raise a lot of money for Pennies for Patients. Ms. Bauer's and Mr. Anderson's classes won the contest and pushed the entire school to raise more money for cancer research. "The" Cascade High School has great students and staff!

Teacher of the month - Mrs. Scharrer
Mrs. Scharrer is the shining star of the month. Mrs. Scharrer has been teaching at Cascade for the past 24 years. Mrs. Scharrer teaches French 1-4 at the high school, world language to 7th graders, and French I to 8th graders at the middle school. Mrs. Scharrer is married to Todd, has two children Nick and Holli, and two step children Caleb and Skyer. Besides teaching, Mrs. Scharrer loves to travel, shop, and spend quality time with her friends and family. She has been fortunate to not only win her Jeep in a contest give-a-way but also meet her favorite musician, Nikki Sixx. In her future with teaching, she would like to see her numbers increase in French. Mrs. Scharrer, thank you for all of your hard work and dedication to our students at The Cascade High School!
